Family on the Edge

In the sudden aftermath of his wife's departure, Steven finds himself as the sole parent and provider of his two children. Exhausting every other option, Steven moves his small family to a homeless shelter in Peterborough, Ontario in the hopes of finding a home in time for Christmas. Over the course of a year, the film explores a family at risk and a father's determination to hang on to his kids.

Wards of the Crown aired on CBC Newsworld - The Lens and Radio-Canada - Enjeux in 2006 - 07. One of the only Canadian documentaries filmed inside the child protection system, Wards of the Crown raised awareness of youth ageing out of care with little to no resources and no one at their side.

Letters to a Street Child

A moving biographical first film by Director Andrée Cazabon. This 25-minute docu-drama based on the letters a Canadian teen received from her father while she was addicted and on the streets at age 13-14.

Funded by the CBC, Rotary Clubs, the Toronto Rotary Club Foundation, the G.H. Woods Foundation, the Tippet Foundation and the National Film Board of Canada.Nominated for 'Best Cinematography' at the Canadian Society of Cinematographers.

No Quick Fix

A revealing portrait of two young addicts,their years in youth institutions, their life on the street, and the despairing parents who find themselves powerless to save their children from the habit that is consuming them.

Nominated for Best Documentary at the 2000 Gemini Awards (Prix Gémaux).

Featured at the Vancouver Film Festival and Eccentris cinema in Montreal, No Quick Fix! toured over 28 communities coast to coast to engage the public on addiction and its impact on families and youth. Screened on CBC and TVA to over 800,000 viewers, the film, its tour and its viewer guide raised the issue of addiction in communities, family and child welfare. It is Andrée Cazabon's first documentary.
